Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Arvinder Singh Lovely on Tuesday said Union Power Minister Piyush Goel had ideas, but no solutions for the power crisis in Delhi, and added that he was running away from responsibilities by blaming the Congress.
"Power Minister Piyush Goyal is still in spokesperson mode. He has ideas, but no solutions, he cannot run away from his responsibilities by blaming us," said Lovely.
"We had controlled the power crisis during our time, and had asked Kejriwal in January to prepare a summer plan for the future," he added.
Earlier today, Goel had said that the Congress government had been insensitive to the needs of the people for the past 15 years, and had not bothered to act on petty problems.
"It's sad that some parties have resorted to politicizing this issue. We had a government for the last 15 years that was insensitive to the growing demands of the people of Delhi. The insensitive government has not even bothered to act on the petty problems concerning power supply," said Goel.
Delhi has been reeling under an intensely hot summer this year with the temperature crossing the 45-degree mark coupled with frequent power cuts.
The Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress party have both held protests against the power crisis in the capital.
The BJP though has blamed both the Congress and the AAP for failing to improve the power distribution system during their rule.
