President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday extended greetings to the people of the country on the eve of Vishu, Rongali Bihu, Vaiskhadi, Puthandu Pirappu and Naba Barsha which are being celebrated on April 14-15, 2015.
"On the auspicious occasion of Vishu, Rongali Bihu, Vaiskhadi, Puthandu Pirappu and Naba Barsha, I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens. These festivals celebrated in different parts of the country highlight the underlying unity of our rich and diverse culture," said President Mukherjee in his message.
"May these festivals heralding the New Year strengthen the pluralistic heritage of our nation and bring with them hope and optimism for the future. May they inspire us to work for the peace, progress and prosperity of our nation," he added.
