Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday announced that President Pranab Mukherjee will interact with the students in a Delhi Government school on the occasion of Teacher's Day.
"The President of India will take class, as a teacher, for a single day as a mark of respect to the teachers in Delhi Government schools. We celebrate Teacher's Day in honour of a teacher (S. Radhakrishnan), who became the President of our country. This will be yet another milestone when the first citizen of India will interact with the students and teach them the lessons of life," Sisodia told a press conference here.
"We had a meeting with the President over this and he was so much impressed with the idea that he immediately accepted it and today he has given the consent also. On the eve of Teacher's Day, President Pranab Mukherjee would take class," he added.
