Decks were cleared on Saturday for Hemant Soren to be sworn as the next chief minister of Jharkhand after President Pranab Mukherjee revoked the nearly six-month-long President's rule in the state.
Soren will head a coalition Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress Government after being sworn in today.
"The President of India Pranab Mukherjee has today (July 13, 2013) signed the Proclamation under clause (2) of the article 356 of the Constitution revoking the Proclamation issued on 18 January 2013, in relation to the State of Jharkhand," a press release issued by Rashtrapati Bhawan said on Saturday morning.
The President's rule was imposed in the state on January 18 following political instability.
