New Delhi, Dec.6 (ANI): Referring Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "dynamic personality", Kazakhstan Ambassador to India Bulat Sarsenbayev on Sunday said Indians deserve such an active leader whose every visit abroad has given fruitful results.
"I think Indian people like to have such an active and dynamic Prime Minister. In every visit of Prime Minister Modi there are some results. And it works for the economy of India and the country to which he is visiting," Sarsenbayev told ANI in an exclusive interview here.
"Prime Minister Modi was in Kazakhstan, and we signed several agreements like military cooperation agreement, Uranium supply agreement, and drew a road map for the economic development of Khazakhstan," the Ambassador added.
Sarsenbayev also said that the two countries share similar positions on many international issues.
"Politically India and Kazakhstan have no problem with each other. We share similar position on many international issues. We provide support to each other on international level. For example, Kazakhstan is bidding for non-permanent member in the security council and India has officially supported us. But economically we have to do a lot of things," he said.
In recent years, India has sought to increase its commerce and strategic ties with Kazakhstan, which is the largest nation of the former Soviet republics, and occupies a major expanse of territory in Central Asia, with extensive oil, natural gas and mineral reserves.
To bolster commerce, both nations have established the Indo-Kazakh Joint Business Council. India is working towards the development of its civilian nuclear energy industry as a clean alternative to satisfy its huge energy needs. Kazakhstan has plenty of the uranium required for nuclear energy, an item that India is in great need of.
