Prince Charles has said that he and his wife Camilla are delighted at the arrival of their grandson.
The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby boy at 4:24 pm on Monday.
The 64-year-old royal and Duchess Camilla issued a statement saying that the couple are overjoyed at the arrival of their first grandchild, Us magazine reported.
He said that it is an incredibly special moment for their son and daughter-in-law William and Catherine and they are thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy.
Charles said that grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life and he is enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time.
He added that the couple are looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.
