After third round of negotiations with the central government in Pakistan on Saturday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has proposed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should step down for a period of 30 days for the judicial commission to independently investigate alleged electoral fraud committed during the 2013 General Elections.
PTI chief Imran Khan, on the other hand, has demanded Sharif to resign from office unconditionally and has said that the protests will continue across the country until the demand is met, reported the Dawn.
Qureshi said that the PTI has accepted the government's proposal to form a judicial commission comprising Supreme Court judges subject to certain conditions including, resignation of Sharif to keep the probe uninfluenced.
He added that the democracy will not be derailed through PTI's demands since they are not demanding dissolution of assemblies or formation of a national government.
