The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the Haryana Government's decision with regard to reservation in promotion for Scheduled Caste employees in the state.

According to reports, Justice Amit Rawal passed the order after a petition challenging the order was filed in the Haryana Civil Secretariat. The case will now come up for hearing on October 16.

Earlier, the Haryana Government had reserved 20 percent of all departmental promotions for Class three and Class four employees belonging to scheduled castes, which was to come into effect from April 1, 2013.
