Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti leader Hardik Patel, who is demanding reservation for the Patel community under the Other Backward Caste (OBC) quota, on Friday declared that he will be meeting with the Jat community soon.

"I will be soon meeting people who are demanding reservations for Jats," Patel told ANI.

Clearing the air that the meeting was not specially in connection to the ongoing protests, Patel said that he had been invited to meet the Jats.

"But if needed, we will go to Jantar Mantar for protests," he added.

Patel was detained following the violent protests by the Patel community in Gujarat.
