Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch, Kelly Reilly join cast of 'True Detective'

Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly are set to star in the second season of HBO's 'True Detective.'

According to the Hollywood Reporter, while McAdams would play the female lead, detective Ani Bezzerides, Reilly and Kitsch would fill in the supporting roles of the 8-episode sophomore season of the show.

The series, which is currently in production in California, centers on 3 police officers and a career criminal, who must steer a web of conspiracy in the aftermath a murder.

The show also stars Colin Farrell as Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective, Vince Vaughn as Frank Semyon, the career criminal, while Reilly would play his wife Jordan, who's a former D-list actress who is a full partner in his enterprises and ambitions.

The season, which would be helmed by a bunch of directors, including Justin Lin, after the departure Cary Fukunaga, would be penned by Nic Pizzolatto.
