The South African domestic cricket is reportedly set to be under aggressively enforced racial quota system from next season.

Franchises could be reportedly required to field a minimum of five players of colour per match, and provincial amateur teams at least six players of colour for the 2014-15 season.

According to Sport24, the racial quota would be in addition to the current regulations that require franchises to include at least one black African player in their starting teams.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) had also reportedly awarded those franchises financially who fielded more than one black player, for more than 70 percent of their matches.

The proposal is being considered after sports ministers Fikile Mbalula's threatened to impose a 60-40 quota at national level, which was retracted after the sports minister reportedly reached an understanding with federations over their development plans.

The new motion is likely to be given formal consent at CSA's board meeting on June 3, the report added.
