Congress vice- president Rahul Gandhi will undertake a 15-kilometre long 'kisaan padyatra' from Nirmal in the Adilabad district of Telangana on Friday and will meet the families of the farmers who have committed suicide.
"Rahul Gandhi thinks about the farmers and poor. Nobody comes to the backward districts," said Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao.
Rahul had earlier raised farmers' issues in the Parliament and also reached out to farmers in Punjab and the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
According to reports, over 900 farmers have committed suicide in the state recently, due to agrarian crisis.
