Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday held Pakistan and politics of the incumbent NDA government responsible for the Uri attack.
Asserting that the UPA in nine years eradicated terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir, Rahul said that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no strategy for Kashmir.
"The truth is that whatever happened in Jammu and Kashmir Pakistan and politics of our government is responsible for that. UPA Government spent nine years fighting terrorism in Kashmir, we had vanquished terrorism there. The alliance which the NDA has made with PDP in Jammu and Kashmir has opened space for terrorism in the state," Said Rahul.
"Narendra Modi talks of event management, such fights are not dealt with event management. NDA has no strategy for Kashmir. Few months back I told Arun Jaitley ji that you are going to face a huge problem in Kashmir and he replied that there is not problem in Kashmir. The kin of the deceased soldiers should be assisted adequately and the government should chalk out a strategy for Kashmir," he added
In one of the worst attacks in recent times, as many as 18 soldiers were killed and over 20 others got injured post the terror strike on an army camp close to the headquarters of the 12th Brigade at Uri on Sunday.
After giving an assurance of going after the perpetrators of the deadly Uri attack, Prime Minister Modi yesterday gave the green signal to diplomatically isolate Pakistan at every international grouping.
India is to present all actionable evidence against Pakistan if required at international bodies.
