With Independent Day celebrations having begun across the nation, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit birth place of Birsa Munda at Ulihatu village in Khunti district of Jharkhand on Saturday to remember the sacrifice of the freedom fighter.

This is being done under "Zara Yaad Karo Kurbani" programme of Union government to pay tribute to various freedom fighters all across the country.

Rajnath is likely to lay the foundation stone of state's tourism department's proposed tourist complexes in Ulihatu and the state government's road projects.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is expected to go to Hira Nagar in Jammu and Kashmir, the birthplace of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, and Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, while Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will visit the colonial-era cellular jail in Port Blair and Rewari in Haryana to pay tribute to Rao Tula Ram.

As part of the Centre's celebrations of 70 years of Independence, Union ministers will visit the birthplaces of forgotten heroes and sites of struggles that were part of the country's freedom movement.
