Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh cast his vote here on Wednesday, and said that he is hopeful about winning this Lok Sabha seat.

"It is true this was represented by Atal Behari Vajpayee, and I am hopeful that I will be able to win the elections from here," Singh said after his meeting with British High Commissioner James Bevan.

"We hold the Election Commission in high respect. What Baba Ramdev has said has been wrongly intererpreted," he said.

Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi has also cast her vote in Lucknow.

Singh, Joshi and actor Jaaved Jaafri of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are in the fray from this constituency.
