The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for 15 minutes on Thursday following protests over Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat's comments on Mother Teresa.
"We had mentioned Zero Hour on Mother Teresa. She said 'I want to convert Hindus to good Hindus, Muslims to good Muslims'. They talk about development and then they divide the people communally. The Prime Minister doesn't want to come and speak on this subject," Trinamool Congress leader Derek-o-Brien told ANI here.
Speaking at a rally in Rajasthan earlier this week, Bhagwat had said that Mother Teresa served society with an objective to convert the people into Christianity.
Bhagwat's comments came days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to protect all religious groups, an apparent response to a series of attacks on Christian institutions in the national capital.
