Randy Travis, who suffered a stroke on July 7 after being hospitalized for presumptive cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure, is on the road to recovery, according to his doctors.
During a videotaped interview, the country singer's doctor Dr. Gary Erwin, said that Travis is awake and alert, interacting with his family and friends, People magazine reported.
The physician asserted in the clip that the 54-year-old star has already begun doing some early physical therapy.
Although Erwin believes that the ailing 'I Told You So' hit maker would remain in the hospital for another two to three weeks to stabilize his heart, he insisted that Travis is breathing with the help of the ventilator and they hope to have him weaned off of that very soon.
