Rao Inderjit Singh has been appointed unopposed as the new president of the Paralympics Committee of India (PCI).
Meanwhile, Kavinder Chaudhary, who was the head of organizing committee of the National Paralympic Games, and was blamed for keeping Paralympic athletes in a very poor condition recently, has been elected PCI vice-president.
Shivaji Kumar has been appointed as joint secretary of the committee.
Besides, Gursharan Singh and S P Sangwan have been named as vice-president of the PCI. J Chandrashekhar and Dinesh Upadhay have also been selected as secretary general and treasurer respectively.
Earlier, the PCI had been derecognised by the International Paralympic Committee ( IPC) for infighting. It was for the third time that India were suspended for violation of rules of governance. (ANI)
