Raymond, a well-known Indian clothing brand, on Friday became the first Indian outlet to open its first shop in the posh locality of Clifton in Karachi, a move appreciated by the business community as a step to closer trade ties between the two neighbours.
Najmus Saqib, director of NexSource, which has acquired the right to run the Raymond outlet in Pakistan, said that he sees the opening as the first step towards more Indian brands coming to the Pakistani market, the Daily Times reports.
According to the report, after an enthusiastic advertising campaign in a city whose wealthier residents are crazy about clothing and where fashion is a key driver of business, Nexsource is expecting to acquire good business.
Executive Saqib believes it is a futuristic investment as we can explore a market 10 times bigger than theirs, the report added.
