The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Malvika Sinha as the Executive Director and B P Kanungo as Deputy Governor, with effect from April 3, 2017.
Under her tenure as Executive Director, Sinha will take charge of Foreign Exchange Department, Department of Government and Bank Accounts and Internal Debt Management Department.
Sinha holds a Masters Degree from University of Bombay and has done her Masters in Public Administration. She is also a Certificated Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.
Sinha joined the RBI in 1982 as a career central banker. She served in the areas of regulation and supervision, foreign exchange and Government and Bank Accounts in the Bank.
Prior to being promoted as the Executive Director, Sinha served as the Principal Chief General Manager, Department of Co-operative Banking Supervision in the Reserve Bank.
