Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer has reportedly arrived in Australia for the Brisbane International tournament with a refreshed outlook for 2014, no injuries and a new coach on his team.

Federer, who will use the Brisbane event as his only warm-up tournament ahead of the Australian Open, announced on Facebook that he had added former No. 1 Stefan Edberg to his coaching team for at least 10 weeks after he finished the season ranked No 6 struggling with a bad back for most of the time.

According to Sport24, the 17-time Grand Slam champion said that it is the first time in a year that he could practice three, four weeks in a row without any setbacks, which is encouraging for him, adding that he did not play any exhibitions which allowed him to train hard and for a longer period of time.

Federer further said that every time he trained in the past, he had setbacks, little aches and pains, especially in the back from time to time, costing him his confidence, adding that the last few months have been important for him as the problems are not an issue anymore.

The Brisbane tournament is also a WTA event which includes Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova as its top draw cards and next week, the ATP and WTA will again combine at the Sydney International, the report added.
