Manchester City produced a dominant performance as they brushed aside reigning Premier League champions Chelsea 3-0 at an electric Etihad Stadium.

Star striker Sergio Aguero put the hosts ahead in the 31st minute after he had been denied three times by Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, the BBC reported.

Subsequently, City stamped their authority with two late goals from captain Vincent Kompany and midfielder Fernandinho.

With the win, City lead the league table with Leicester City and Manchester United holding second and third position respectively.
