Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Thursday criticised Minister of State for External Affairs General (Retd.) V.K. Singh over his controversial statement on the Ballabhgarh incident saying that it reflects the mindset of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"Jo V.K Singh bola vahi BJP ka mool vichar hai. Jo Dalit-pichada ko jitna adhik gaali dega, soshan karega, usko RSS vah BJP utna hi bada neta manta hai (What VK Singh said is mindset of BJP. Those who speak ill of Dalits and the backwards, BJP and RSS considers them big leaders)," RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav tweeted.
Janata Dal (United) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also condemned the former army chief's statement in a tweet.
"Aghast at the senseless comment made by some BJP leaders including Union Minister on tragic Dalit killings in Haryana,"Kumar tweeted.
The former army chief had courted a controversy with his reaction over the Dalit killings in Ballabhgarh, saying that it had become customary for the Centre to be blamed for everything negative that happened in the country.
"This incident has nothing to with the Central government. This is the failure of state government. If someone throws stones at a dog, the government is not responsible," Singh had said.
General (Retd.) Singh later clarified his statement and slammed the media for manipulating the same.
