Former Union Minister and RJD leader Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi on Wednesday expressed his disappointment over the information that he is not getting the ticket to contest Lok Sabha poll from Madhubani seat.
"Perhaps, my name is not in the list according to the information I am getting. The final list has not been released. I am hoping for good results," Fatmi said.
"I have been with Lalu Prasad Yadav through all highs and lows since the last 30 years. I have humbly sent my message to our senior leadership that I have won four times in the Lok Sabha polls. If I'm not getting the ticket, then I should be told the reason," he told ANI.
His son and RJD MLA Faraz Fatmi said: "We have conveyed our feelings to our leader Tejashwi Yadav. He has assured us that he will certainly take up our issues with senior leaders. We want to contest from Madhubani. We are waiting for the party's decision."
Ashraf Fatmi had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Darbhanga.
Bihar will see polling in seven phases. The dates of polling in Bihar are April 11, 18, 23, 29 and May 6, 12 and 19. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
