At least ten persons have lost their lives in a multi-vehicle crash, in which two cars and a motorbike collided, on the southwestern Mexican coast, near the famous tourist hot spot of Acapulco.
Several media reports stated that, according to the authorities, the accident happened on a highway between Acapulco and the beach city Zihuatanejo in the state of Guerrero.
The state of Guerrero's civil protection communications center stated that it was yet unclear if any tourists were among the victims of the crash and among the dead are two kids, aged one and four.
Other victims were aged between 26 to 76 years old.
The highway along the Pacific Coast is typically busier than usual at year-end, when tourists flock to beaches for vacations.
On December 20, About 12 people were killed, including eight Americans, while several were injured when a tourist bus crashed in Mexico.
Two of those killed in the attack were Swedes, while one was Canadian and one was Mexican, the local media quoted tourism ministry of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, as saying.
