Robbie Williams' 'Swings Both Ways' is UK's 1,000th number one album

Robbie Williams new album 'Swings Both Ways' has become the 1,000th number to top the UK charts,

The 39-year-old singer has now had 11 number ones as a solo artist, equalling Elvis Presley, the BBC reported.

More than 3,000 album charts have been published till now - with the Beatles the most frequent visitors to the top.

The former Take That star said that he was still competitive against his old bandmates, and Gary Barlow in particular.

He said that he has always insisted that he wants to sell a million-and-one records, and he wants Gaz to sell a million.
