Robert De Niro, while defending his documentary 'Vaxxer' that has been pulled from the Tribeca Film Festival, insisted that he is not against vaccination, rather is concerned about safe vaccines.
The Oscar winning actor appeared at the 'Today show' on April 13 to talk about the festival, which cancelled his movie due to some 'anti-vaccine' controversies, reports the Guardian.
In that conversation, De Niro, sharing his thoughts on the potential link between vaccinations and autism and the importance of the much-debated film, said that people should watch 'Vaxxer' as it carries information about things that are happening with the CDC, the pharmaceutical companies and those things they are not doing.
"I, as a parent of a child who has autism, I'm concerned. And I want to know the truth. I'm not anti-vaccine. I want safe vaccines," he stated.
The 72-year-old actor, who co-founded Tribeca, recently revealed that his 18-year-old son is autistic and many people blame vaccines for autism.
