Robert De Niro has honoured his late father by making a documentary on him called 'Remembering the Artist Robert De Niro Sr', which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.
De Niro said that he wanted to make a documentary about his father with whatever footage they had, which included people, whoever was around that were still with them, CBS reported.
He claimed that he wanted to have them interviewed and talk about him and have it for the family, for his kids, grandkids and then it was picked up by HBO which was really great.
Robert De Niro Sr. was an abstract expressionist painter, part of the post-WWII art scene and was even endorsed by the famed art collector and socialite, Peggy Guggenheim.
