Robert Downey Jr has offered support to his son Indio, who was arrested for cocaine possession, by saying that addiction is inherited in his family.

The 'Iron Man' star stated that there was a lot of family support and understanding, and they were all determined to rally behind his son and help him become the man he was capable of being, the Mirror reported.

The 49-year-old actor further stated that they were grateful to the Sheriff's department for their intervention, and believed that Indio could be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale.
