'Independence Day' director Roland Emmerich feels himself to be responsible for the destruction for cities by Batman, Spider-man and other superheroes.
In a recent interview, Emmerich said that when he saw some Marvel movies or DC movies from Warners, he felt "oh my God that looks familiar to me. Why is Superman bashing so many buildings?" reports the Independent.
Basically, general public are obsessed with the spandex wearing heroes, many of which culminate in a city or two blowing up.
The 60-year-old filmmaker even mentioned that he was already warned by Steven Spielberg about this consequence.
"He said Independence Day will be the most imitated film of the next 20 years - and he was right," said the director.
