Star striker Cristiano Ronaldo smashed a late winner as Real Madrid ended Barcelona's 39-game unbeaten streak after claiming a 2-1 victory in their La Liga clash at Camp Nou on Sunday.
After a goalless first half, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique put his side in lead first by striking a goal in the 56th minute before Real forward Karim Benzema equalized the score just six minutes later.
It was in the 85th minute of the match when Ronaldo netted a match-winning goal, which was also his 49th goal of the season, to make it 2-1 against the hosts, the Guardian reported
Real are currently third in the standings and have also reduced the gap to Barcelona at the top of the La Liga table to six points.
They will next lock horns against Eibar on April 9.
