British snooker player Ronnie O'Sullivan and his six-year-old son had reportedly 'cheated death' despite losing control of his car on a motorway just hours after losing in the final of the Snooker World Championship to his compatriot Mark Selby.
O'Sullivan, who has won five World Championships, five Masters titles and holds the record for the most 147 breaks, had been a firm favourite to win his sixth World Championship - and his third in a row - before slipping to a surprise defeat to Selby.
According to the Daily Star, O'Sullivan and his son Ronnie Junior were heading home to Essex from Leicester when he lost control of his two-seater sports car, thought to be an Audi R8, and smashed onto a motorway's central reservation.
The report mentioned that it is thought the car drove through a patch of water on the road before slamming into the central reservation, adding that speed is not believed to have been a factor in the accident yet.
O'Sullivan's fiancee, actress Laila Rouass, has taken to Twitter to confirm that both Ronnie and Ronnie Junior were unharmed, the report added.
