Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney believes his side have been rejuvenated under newly-appointed manager Jose Mourinho and that they currently hold a strong chance to challenge this season's Premier League title.
The Old Trafford club have made many big signings this time like Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Meanwhile, United has also been reportedly negotiating over the transfer of Juventus striker Paul Pogba, Sport24 reported.
Shedding light on the same, Rooney insisted that it feels more like the old United now, especially because of the presence of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who made strong impact last season.
The 30-year-old also called on the team to put up a strong performance against last season's Premier League champions Leicester City in their annual Community Shield clash to be played at Wembley on Sunday.
Rooney said although it is just a one-off game, his side want to show that they deserve to clinch the trophy.
United, who ended their previous campaign on the fifth place, will begin their Premier League title challenge against Bournemouth on August 14.
