Rory McIlroy has revealed that he has broken off his engagement to fiance Caroline Wozniacki just days after they sent out their wedding invitations to family and friends.
The 25-year-old golf star said that the issuing of the invitations had made it clear to him that he was not ready for all that marriage entails, News24.com reported.
He explained through a statement that there is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people, adding that the problem was his.
He also said that he wished Wozniacki all the happiness she deserved and thanked her for the great times that the two shared, adding that he will not be saying anything more about the couple's relationship in any setting.
