Cricket fans tuning in to Channel Nine, who cover the ongoing Test series between Australia and India live, were on the receiving end of a bizarre morning as they were subjected to 'pizza' talks rather than their regular cricket update.

Channel Nine commentators were supposed to deliver ball by ball update about the ongoing Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, as Australia's Shaun Marsh and Ryan Harris batted conservatively before the hosts declared on 318-9.

However, fans tuning in to Channel Nine's cricket coverage had no idea about such a tactical surprise in the match, because the commentators were talking about pizza, News.com.au reported.

Led by Australian leg-spin legend Shane Warne, the commentators spent several minutes discussing what type of pizza was their favourite.

Channel Nine then ran a poll asking users to vote for their favourite pizza. The bizarre pizza poll also ran hot on the heels of a vote on which city is better, Sydney or Melbourne, with the latter winning that poll, the report added.
