The Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) passed three major resolutions on the three-day annual meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), the highest body for policy formulation and decision making of the right-wing group in Nagaur, Rajasthan.

In the first resolution, the RSS is of the opinion that there is a need for effective health care and easy access to affordable medical services. For this, well functioning medical services of all kinds and systems need to be expanded across the country especially in rural and tribal areas. Information technology should be effectively used for the continuity in treatment and expert counsel.

The RSS has also appreciated free medicines schemes initiated in some states. The schemes of free distribution of medicines started in states in last few years and the proposal made for 3000 generic medicines centres by the central government in the recent budget are welcome moves.

The ABPS also called upon the country's industry groups, voluntary and social organisations and charitable trusts to further come forward to make facilities available for people.

In the second resolution, the RSS said the government must come forward towards its responsibility of allocating adequate resources and formulating appropriate policies. There is a need to curb the rising commercialization of the education sector so that the pupils are not compelled to acquire education at unaffordable costs.

The ABPS said it is utmost essential to ensure proper training, appropriate salaries and strengthen the dutifulness of the teachers to enhance their standard; both in state run and private schools.

In the third resolution, the RSS said that each individual should conduct oneself with samarasata (social harmony) in day to day personal, family and societal life on the basis of our eternal and timeless life ideals. It is this conduct that will eradicate caste discrimination, untouchability and mutual distrust from the society and all of us will experience an integral and samaras life free of exploitation.
