The mother-in-law of Brit-Indian businessman Shrien Dewani, accused of plotting to kill his wife Ann during their honeymoon in South Africa, has said she feels sympathy for him as she begged him to reveal what really happened to her daughter.
Grieving Nilam Hindocha showed astonishing compassion for the prime suspect in her daughter Anni's murder as he continues to fight extradition.
According to the Mirror, the 33-year-old will find out later this month if he is to be sent back to South Africa to face trial.
Anni, 28, was kidnapped and shot dead in Cape Town in 2010 during her honeymoon.
Dewani has denied hiring a hitman and has been deemed unfit to stand trial while he is in a secure mental hospital near his home in Bristol, suffering from post-traumatic stress and depression.
Nilam, 62, said Dewani is 'as ruined by this as they are', adding that 'he is ill, and she have sympathy with him. His life is broken for ever'.
She added that Shrien was truly in love with her daughter, adding that she wanted him to tell her what happened.
