Backing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adtiyanaths's age jibe, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that 'UP ke ladke' ex-state chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi misjudged the saffron leader.

BJP leader S. Prakash said that Akhilesh and Rahul did not realise that there is one more 'Uttar Pradesh ka ladka' who might take away their fortune.

"UP ke ladke-Rahul and Akhilesh did not realise that there is one more UP ka Ladka there in the fray. They misjudged Yogi Adityanath who took away their fortune," Prakash told ANI.

Adiyanath yesterday took a jibe at Rahul and Akhilesh, saying that he coming in between them could be one of the reasons for their defeat in the recently held state assembly elections.

Delivering his maiden speech in the Parliament two days after taking over as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Adityanath jocularly said that he is an year elder to the Samajwadi Party chief and a year younger to the Congress vice-president, symbolically suggesting 'how he came between the duo' and led to their failure.

"I am a year younger to Rahul and a year elder to Akhilesh. Me coming in between them could be one of the reasons for the loss," Adityanath said.
