Sacked England batsman Kevin Pietersen has reportedly been appointed as the new captain of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Daredevils for the seven edition of the tournament.
Pietersen, who was told to go by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after his team's miserable Ashes tour, was also informed that he would not be considered for the England national team in future.
According to Sport24, Pietersen, who has represented the Daredevils since 2012, said that he is honoured to be made captain for this year's edition, adding that he is looking forward to working alongside South African Gary Kirsten, who will be the team's head coach.
Pietersen further said that they want to have a hard working and fun environment where they enjoy their cricket and produce some positive results for their fans.
