The Punjab Police on Thursday arrested Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Paramjit Singh and his son, who assaulted a nurse at a hospital in Moga.
A case was registered against SAD sarpanch Daljit Kaur's husband Paramjit and their son for assaulting a nurse in Moga yesterday.
The father-son duo thrashed the nurse Ramandeep Kaur at Goyal Hospital when asked to wait outside.
They were at the hospital to get a relative discharged. Where they were asked to wait by Ramandeep, they abused her first and then thrashed her.
According to sources, Ramandeep was five months pregnant.
The duo has been booked under Sections 451 (house trespass to commit an offence), 323 (punishment for causing hurt voluntarily), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intent in crime) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Baghapurana in Moga district.
