Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Co. (SAM and Co.) has advised Videocon Telecommunications Ltd. (VTL) on structuring of the proposed spectrum trading transaction. SAM and Co. was also involved in drafting of the memorandum of understanding, for negotiations with the prospective bidders.
The SAM and Co. team was led by Shardul Shroff, Executive Chairman and comprised of Vidyut Gulati, Partner; Asim Abbas, Partner; and Kushal Sinha, Senior Associate.
This is India's first telecom spectrum trading transaction after notification of guidelines for trading of access spectrum by access service providers by the department of telecommunications on 12 October 2015.
VTL proposed to undertake spectrum trading of access licenses, in accordance with the 'Guidelines for Trading of Access Spectrum by Access Service Providers' issued by the Department of Telecommunications on 12 October 2015, with prospective bidders.
