'Avatar' star Sam Worthington was arrested in Greenwich Village for punching a photographer who kicked his girlfriend Lara Bingle.
Sources revealed that Worthington and his 26-year-old girlfriend were at the corner of Jane and Greenwich streets when the photographer, Sheng Li, kicked the young woman, the New york Post reported.
The 37-year-old rushed to his girlfriend's defense and hit the photographer in the face, cutting his nose.
However, Worthington, who was charged with assault, was given a desk-appearance ticket, while Li was charged with harassment and reckless endangerment and has been held for arraignment.
