Samsung has reportedly announced that its Smart TV control for 2014 would include more gestures, smaller trackpad, and more buttons, including actual DVR controls.
The updated controller that comes with most of Samsung's Smart TVs would support gestures via smaller track pad, which is fifth the size of last year's, and will be unveiled at the 2014 CES.
According to Cnet, the bars present on last year's track pad, which supported gestures like drawing channel numbers and scrolling have now been replaced with improved gesture support.
The 2014 Smart Control pad supports a swiping left/right gesture to flick between Samsung Smart Hub panels or content listings across multiple pages and is bounded by four directional buttons for easy access to content.
Another significant addition is a dedicated button for Multi-Link Screen, which allows users to watch multiple contents, like Web TV or apps, simultaneously on a single screen, apart from another button to enter 'Soccer Mode' that optimizes picture settings.
The latest Smart Control also brings up the virtual remote keyboard more easily than before and with its new shape mimicking the pebble design of Samsung's old mini-remotes, it also includes microphone for voice search.
