Sana Mir, captain of Pakistan's women's cricket team, has become the first bowler from the country to take 100 wickets in One-day Internationals.
Sana reached the milestone when she clean bowled Bangladesh's Jahanara Alam during Pakistan's match in the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier at Colombo on Wednesday which her team won by 67 runs. She also became only the sixth female player to complete the double of 100 wickets and 1000 runs.
Mir is the 15th player to reach the milestone in the history of women cricket, reports the Dawn.
Mir, who began the day with 98 ODI wickets, got her first when a sliding Ghulam Fatima caught Salma Khatun attempting to go over the bowler's head in attack in the 36th over.
She was denied her 100th in her next over when Rabiya Shah, the wicketkeeper, fumbled an easy catch. But in the 43rd, when Jahanara Alam was bowled trying to go for a big shot, Sana had her milestone and celebrated with folded hands and eyes turned skywards.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) also congratulated the Pakistani captain in a tweet.
"First to 100! Congratulations to Sana Mir on becoming the first Pakistan woman to reach 100 ODI wickets, and just the 15th overal #WWC17," tweeted ICC.
