Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday said he was hopeful about Team India's victory in the cricket World Cup semi-finals being played against Australia in Sydney.
"Team India will win the match. Till now, the way they have played, that they have shown and along with Dhoni's capability, gives hope that Team India will win world cup. India has capable bowling, batting and it has Captain Dhoni hence all believe and have hope about it," Sonowal told ANI.
Today's match today pits four-times champions Australia, the top-ranked team in one-day cricket, against defending champions India.
Fans across the country are holding special prayers for the Indian cricket team.
The winners today will go on to face the other co-hosts New Zealand next Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
