A day after being convicted by the Supreme Court in the disproportionate assets case, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary V.K. Sasikala Natarajan on Wednesday reached Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara jail.
Earlier, the registrar of Karnataka High Court ordered shifting of court to Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara jail.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu minister and supporter of Sasikala, Saroja said that they would soon form government in the state as the Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao has given an assurance to them regarding the same.
"Yesterday we presented the requisition letter to form the government. All of us met the governor. He was very courteous. After going through letter of support of 125 MLAs he gave us assurance that we will be called soon to form the government. He will definitely call us and will give positive reply," Saroja told media here.
Lauding the Tamil Nadu Governor as a 'good parliamentarian', she said , "He knows his constitutional obligations."
The AIADMK General Secretay earlier on January 11 wrote a letter to Rao seeking an appointment to prove majority.
"I would like to seek an appointment with you by today along with all MLAs who extended their support to me regarding further course of action to form the government," the letter read.
Promising to parade all the MLAs who support her, Sasikala further asked the Governor to take swift action regarding the political turmoil in the state.
Sasikala was yesterday convicted for four years in connection with acquiring income beyond her known sources of earning.
As per law, she has also been barred from holding public office for a further period of six years.
