Satish Upadhyay appointed Delhi BJP chief

BJP leader Satish Upadhyay was appointed as the new party President of the Delhi Unit.

BJP president Rajnath Singh announced Upadhyay's appointment late last night.

Upadhyay succeeded Harsh Vardhan, who had resigned from the post after being elected an MP from Chandni Chowk and elevated to the Union Cabinet.

Upadhyay, who is also the Chairman of South Delhi Municipal Corporation's Standing Committee, said: "I will strengthen the organisation and put people's expectations before party.
