The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition that alleged corruption in the purchase of coffins, rockets and snow shoes during the 1999 Kargil War.

The PIL, pending in the apex court since 2004, had leveled allegations which had dented the image of the then NDA government headed by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had submitted a report to the court, informing that it has not been able to find anyone guilty of indulging in irregularity.
