As many as five new judges were appointed to the Supreme Court on Wednesday, taking the total strength of the apex court judges to 28.
The judges who have been appointed are Chhattisgarh High Court's Chief Justice Dipak Gupta, Karnataka High Court's Judge Justice S. Abdul Nazeer, Kerala High Court's Chief Justice Mohan M. Shantanagouder, Madras High Court's Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Rajasthan High Court's Chief Justice Naveen Sinha.
The apex court worked for most of last year with 23 judges during Justice T.S. Thakur's tenure as Chief Justice of India.
