Students of a school in South Delhi were recently urged to protect the environment, promote sustainable development and save Mother Earth.

Giving a talk on environmental protection, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. R.C. Mishra inspired the students of Deep Public School, D- II, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.

Dr. Mishra laced his thought provoking talk with various inspiring anecdotes, tabs and tables from the Indian scriptures.

He urged Deep Public School students to save man from his endangered survival in future and emphasized the need for strengthening India's inherent cultural attitude of 'returning back'.

Emphasis was placed on planting more trees, which Dr. Mishra felt is the best way of benevolence and charity towards both man and animal.

Inspired and motivated by his talk many Deep Public School students raised several questions, leading to a very interactive and learning session.

Their queries ranged from different fields of Dr. Mishra's expertise such as environment, terrorism, cyber crime, gender equality and a career in the police force.

At the end, the students promised to be proactive in saving the environment by planting more trees.

An eminent IGP, Dr. Mishra has to his credit several prestigious awards such as the President's Award, the Human Rights Millennium Award and the World Hindi Millennium Award by International Association of Educators for World Peace, an affiliate of UNESCO and UNICEF, besides a long list of books on diverse topics ranging from terrorism, cyber crime, environmental studies, human rights and policing etc.
